How do you wakesurf?
Wakesurfing involves using a small surfboard like board to actually surf on the boats wakes. You start with a short rope behind the boat and once you begin surfing, you actually stay within the boats wake without using a rope.
Equipment Needed
Generally you need a boat which produces a large wake to surf independently of the boat. However, you can still enjoy wakesurfing with small boats but you generally must hang onto the rope.
A Sport For All Ages
Because wakesurfing is considered a “low impact” sport and doesn’t necessarily require a lot of strength, people of all ages can enjoy!
Where to Wakesurf?
Because of the large wakes produced, we ask that you only wakesurf in the deepest parts of Sylvan/Otter Lakes. This not only helps conserve the wetlands, but minimizes the impact of waves on lakefront homes and docked boats.
